Main Responsibilities
As an Advanced Social Worker at Staffordshire, you will support and coach social workers, focusing on quality practice and positive outcomes for children and families.
In the Assessment & Staying Together teams, your responsibilities include:
1. Managing complex cases of children
2. Sharing care management tasks with the team manager, promoting a restorative approach, making decisions, and advising on child in need, child protection, and care proceedings
3. Chairing strategy meetings and complex case reviews
4. Coordinating and facilitating supervision sessions
5. Promoting multi-agency service delivery and restorative practices
6. Ensuring team performance against KPIs
7. Mentoring colleagues and supporting the professional development of newly qualified social workers
8. Providing practice placements and managing workload of social work students
9. Supervising unqualified staff, including students and sessional workers
10. Leading or contributing to projects as directed
The Ideal Candidate
Our ideal Advanced Social Worker will be:
* A qualified social worker with post-qualifying experience
* Registered with Social Work England
* Possessing a current UK driving license and access to a vehicle
Above all, you should be passionate about working with children and families to provide the right support at the right time, aiming to keep families together where safe.
