PHealth and Safety /ppResponsible for the effective implementation of the site Health and Safety Policy and to influence your staff. To discharge your duties effectively you have the following responsibilities: /pul li pComplete Health & Safety Management 6 Pack Training within the first 3 months of employment./p /li/ulul li pUnderstand the Moy Park Health and Safety Policy, Company Safety Rules and Statutory requirements applying to all operations under your control./p /li/ulul li pEnsure that the arrangements made by the Company to secure the Health and Safety of employees are implemented./p /li/ulul li pEnsure that all substances under your supervision have suitable and sufficient risk assessments (COSHH) completed (if appropriate), are stored in the correct manner and that copies of all COSHH assessments are passed to the Health and Safety Advisor for inclusion in the COSHH Manual./p /li/ulul li pCheck that all new employees under your supervision are trained and given such information, instruction and supervision as may be necessary to enable them to work safely, without injury to health. /p /li/ulul li pCheck that all persons under your supervision are made aware of the procedures for reporting accidents. /p /li/ulul li pCheck that all persons under your supervision are made aware of the location of the first aid facilities./p /li/ulul li pAssist the Managers in ensuring that all hazards affecting your area of supervision are identified and risk assessments are completed./p /li/ulul li pContinually seek to develop safe practices and safe systems of work and ensure these are put into practice. /p /li/ulul li pSet an example in safe considerate behaviour./p /li/ulul li pCheck that all plant, machinery and equipment is safe to use and that all dangerous parts of machinery are guarded and that the guards provided are correctly fitted, adjusted and maintained whilst the machinery is in motion or use. Any defect must immediately be reported and if it is felt, in consultation with your immediate Manager, that there is a risk of imminent danger, then the machine will not be used until repairs have been carried out. /p /li/ulul li pEnsure that appropriate protective clothing and equipment, is in a serviceable condition and is worn/used by all persons present./p /li/ulul li pCheck that all persons in your department/s are familiar with the routine in case of fire or other emergency that might require evacuation of the workplace./p /li/ulul li pEnsure that good housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained throughout your area/s of responsibility. /p /li/ulul li pCheck that appropriate remedial action is taken in respect of all reported defects and complaints relating to Health and Safety./p /li/ulul li pEnsure that all incidents and near misses are reported./p /li/ulul li pEnsure that all accidents, dangerous occurrences and near misses are investigated promptly and reported, stating the cause of the accident and/or occurrence and the action taken or recommended to prevent recurrence./p /li/ulul li pCo-operate with the appointed Safety Representatives in matters relating to Health and Safety./p /li/ulul li pCarry out a visual weekly Health and Safety inspection of the department and document all appropriate remedial action, in respect of all reported defects and complaints relating to Health and Safety./p /li/ulul li pIf any of the above arrangements are not adequate, it must be highlighted to your Manager for appropriate action. /p /li/ulp/ppAny employee breaching employee health and safety responsibilities will be liable for investigation which may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the Companys disciplinary policy./pp/ppTechnical/pul li pDriving a quality culture/p /li/ulul li pFull accountability for technical KPIs ensuring that the company targets are achieved and appropriate actions to resolve and incidents closed within timescales/p /li/ulul li pAwareness and understanding of actions to support and deliver on Food Safety and Product Quality Index targets./p /li/ulul li pSupport and when required, lead internal audits for your areas of responsibility./p /li/ulul li pEnsure for area of responsibility, necessary process control checks are completed and sign off CCPs as required/p /li/ulul li pEnsure concessions in place for deviations from Spec of product or process./p /li/ulul li pEnsure that all products meet the agreed customer specification and quality standards./p /li/ulul li pCustomer Service Levels to be maintained through Hourly line attainment to plan./p /li/ulpProduction Performance and KPIs/pul li pTo ensure a good start of shift, arrive at least 15 mins before shift start, walk the line and complete verbal handover with opposite number daily./p /li/ulul li pWhen required to, attend NPD critical path meetings as Operations Representative. Awareness and accountability of committed trials, ensuring Operations Team Leads attend trials. Manage and engage Production Operatives to be on the line at start of shift and present until end of shift to changeover./p /li/ulul li pManagement of quality culture ownership for rejects levels being monitored and challenged if deemed within their control to prevent. Highlight and communicate poor quality material received and reject to supplying area or department./p /li/ulul li pReduce the creation of 2nd choice material and record reasons for generation./p /li/ulul li pEnsure Updated plans are issued to lines./p /li/ulul li pDeviation from Plan must be communicated and escalated to Shift Managers, and planning teams, plans to protect service issues must be clearly communicated./p /li/ulul li pWhen required, attend unit reviews to ensure shift is on plan. Understand and be accountable for all deviations from plan, agree action to take during shift./p /li/ulul li pEnsure labour standards align to production requirements, visual confirmation of heads and correct location on line in line with labour map. /p /li/ulul li pConduct labour checks on products throughout shift./p /li/ulul li pResponsible for completing swift changeovers, all materials/utensils and instructions are available before required on the line. /p /li/ulul li pBe present, where possible, at product changeovers to ensure target time is met, line is clear of previous product and labour is utilised on other lines or sent to break. Confirm the line is fully clear before you start the next run. /p /li/ulul li pEffective use of SIC boards as part of hourly throughput confirmations. Review and ensure your SIC boards are filled in hourly and huddle as required with the team. Take appropriate actions if you do not meet your hourly targets. Review line frequently to ensure Hourly Numbers are achieved./p /li/ulul li pUnderstand optimum strike rate of each line/products. /p /li/ulul li pUnderstand full root cause analysis for all failures and support all learnings and key actions to avoid reoccurrence. /p /li/ulul li pDrive a process to ensure full optimisation of labour utilisation:/p /li/ulul li pReduction in non-attendance through engagement and adherence to company policy/p /li/ulul li pReduction in labour turnover through engagement of workforce /p /li/ulul li pEffective holiday planning /p /li/ulul li pBe aware of trends of all equipment to ensure full functionality and utilisation with appropriate maintenance plans./p /li/ulul li pEnsure plans are implemented and driven to deliver peak production activity requirements. /p /li/ulul li pMonitor and maintain all customer service levels, both internal and external./p /li/ulul li pSupport with the delivery of projects to improve business unit and the factory./p /li/ulul li pEnsure during and in preparation for the next shift all people, materials and equipment are available. /p /li/ulul li pInspect your line for key factors (e.g. waste) ensuring green deliveries./p /li/ulul li pReview team and individual performance through each run./p /li/ulul li pEnsure handover filled in for next shift. Detail around reasons for not achieving KPIs./p /li/ulul li pEnsuring waste is weighed and lines clear of debris./p /li/ulul li pMonitor that all equipment is fully functional and interact with maintenance./p /li/ulul li pChallenge non productive labour and behaviours./p /li/ulul li pHolidays to be entered by procedure in the holiday book. /p /li/ulul li pFill in Labour Confirmation within 20 mins of shift start./p /li/ulp/ppPeople/pul li pMaintain a good working relationship with the HR Department on all people related matters with full communication and consultation. /p /li/ulul li pLead business values by example. /p /li/ulul li pWork with Specialist Skills Trainers to ensure area of responsibility is fully trained and developed. Be aware of all skills gaps and have the required skill level to run a shift. /p /li/ulul li pDemonstrate effective cross functional team working, including but not limited to, Technical, Engineering, Planning, HR, Learning and Development, Occupational Health, Procurement, Process Development and services to create a focused factory./p /li/ulul li pComplete Team members annual IPRs and all year-round feedback on performance and behaviour on a regular basis, identify training and development needs./p /li/ulul li pDemonstrate positive behaviours to engage and encourage with a can-do approach. /p /li/ulul li pClear understanding of attendance issues within area of responsibility, adherence to company attendance policy and responsibility for Return to Work Interview completion for all team members. /p /li/ulul li pConsistent application in line with company policy and legislation of performance management, disciplinary and grievances. /p /li/ulul li pDrive best in class standards in all people matters within unit of responsibility. /p /li/ulul li pEffective delivery of employee weekly/daily communications via huddles/briefs./p /li/ulul li pDevelop a culture where employee engagement and communication are promoted and actively delivered./p /li/ulp/ppContinuous Improvement/pul li pEngage team to make and drive small incremental improvement steps weekly./p /li/ulul li pAssist in evaluating, utilising, deployment and embedment of a range of continuous improvement and lean techniques to deliver best in class operational excellence./p /li/ulpEnvironment/pul li pOptimise energy usage, looking at opportunities for energy reduction and carbon footprint reduction./p /li/ulul li pTo work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. reduction of waste, recycling etc./p /li/ulpThis is not an exhaustive list and the post holder will be required to carry out any reasonable duty that is requested within the role./p
