We are seeking an experienced and strategically focused Director of Estates & Facilities to join us at a pivotal point in our development. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and as a key member of the senior leadership team, you will lead the long‑term planning and optimisation of our estate and infrastructure. This is a high‑impact executive role, shaping and delivering the Trust's Estates Strategy aligned to our clinical ambitions and future service model. You will play a central role in ensuring our estate is safe, compliant, sustainable and fit for purpose, while driving a Corporate Landlord approach to maximise utilisation and value.
Main duties of the job
* Advise the Board as the Trust's subject matter expert on estates and facilities
* Lead the development and delivery of the Estates Strategy, Delivery Plan and Capital Strategy
* Ensure safe, secure and fully compliant environments for patients and staff
* Oversee capital planning and programme delivery aligned to clinical priorities
* Manage PFI contracts to ensure performance, value and effective partnerships
* Drive sustainability and net zero initiatives across the estate
* Provide visible, values‑led leadership to a large and diverse workforce
* Hold professional accountability for Estates (Hard FM), Facilities (Soft FM), Capital Projects, Property, Sustainability, PFI and Medical Devices

Job responsibilities
* A strong track record in estates and facilities management at scale, ideally within healthcare or the NHS
* Strategic leadership capability alongside strong operational delivery
* Experience of leading transformation in complex, financially constrained environments
* In‑depth knowledge of statutory compliance, governance and healthcare estates standards
* The ability to build strong relationships with clinical, corporate and external partners
