Role: 2nd Line IT Engineer
Location: Chippenham (Hybrid working | 1 day in Office) + Client Site Visits
Salary: Up to £36,000 DOE

Our client, a leading technology services provider, is hiring a 2nd Line IT Engineer to support a fast-paced multi-client environment. This role plays a key part in resolving escalated issues, delivering excellent service, and contributing to project activity. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone ambitious, client-focused, and passionate about developing their technical capability.
What you’ll do
Provide 2nd Line support across customer-facing and remote channels
Manage incidents, troubleshoot issues, and maintain helpdesk workflows
Configure PCs, servers, firewalls, and contribute to daily system checks including backups
Maintain accurate client documentation, logs, and reporting
Assist with project delivery and collaborate with infrastructure teams on escalated tasks
You’ll work closely with service desk and network infrastructure teams to ensure SLA adherence, client satisfaction, and high-quality technical outcomes.
What we’re looking for
3+ years’ experience within an MSP or ISP environment
Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies
Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, and Azure Sync
Confident supporting Windows, Mac, RDS, and networking technologies including TCP/IP
Excellent communication skills with the ability to operate under pressure and within SLAs
The ideal candidate will be proactive, commercially aware, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, client-facing environment. An interest in emerging technologies and continual improvement will be key to success.
