Anderson Knight are delighted to be partnering with our long standing client to recruit a Financial Accounting Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to lead and develop the accounting function, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting while driving operational excellence across the business.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function and play a key role in strengthening financial controls, improving processes and supporting strategic decision-making.
This position offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing finance team, influence change and help shape the future direction of the organisation’s financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts, along with statutory financial statements.
* Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, internal policies and all reporting deadlines.
* Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and journal postings.
* Manage the year-end audit process and act as the main point of contact for external auditors.
* Supervise, mentor and develop members of the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
* Allocate workloads effectively, set priorities and ensure the timely delivery of accurate financial information.
* Support ongoing learning and professional development within the team.
* Maintain and enhance internal financial controls, policies and procedures.
* Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen financial
* Drive automation initiatives, systems improvements and the adoption of digital finance tools.
* Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
* Monitor financial performance against budget, supporting effective cost control and resource allocation.
* Provide meaningful financial analysis and insights to support wider business decision-making.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
* Full professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA or equivalent).
* Previous experience in a financial accounting or finance management role with supervisory responsibilities.
* Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
* Advanced Excel skills and experience working with accounting and ERP systems.
* A proactive and solutions-focused approach with experience driving process improvements and efficiencies.
* Experience of systems implementation, automation or digital transformation projects would be advantageous.
