Overseeing the design, development, and execution of spacecraft systems missions. Your leadership will ensure that advanced systems and solutions are delivered effectively, driving innovation and excellence in aerospace technology. You will report directly to our Director of Engineering and you'll work out of our Edinburgh Facility. In this role, you will impact the successful execution of complex projects, Primarily the delivery of the QKDSAT Mission Control capability and team ensuring that mission objectives are met while fostering collaboration and innovation within your team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and manage spacecraft systems missions, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives. Oversee the design and development of spacecraft and ground operations systems, ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and implement best practices in mission execution. Train and mentor the flight control team to enhance their skills and operational effectiveness. Deliver the new spacecraft control facility in Edinburgh, ensuring it meets all operational requirements. Oversee the development of spacecraft management procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. Monitor and analyse mission performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Engage with stakeholders to ensure that mission objectives are clearly communicated and met. Strong knowledge of spacecraft systems integration, implementation, and troubleshooting. Proven track record of successfully managing complex aerospace projects. Experience with relevant spacecraft technologies and systems. Experience with satellite launch early operations commissioning and operations and in-flight anomaly resolution Experience with flight dynamics Experience with mission analysis Experience with satellite assembly, integration and test Experience with satellite operation control center design, definition, integration, test, deployment Familiarity with ESA operating standards and ECSS. Understanding of CCSDS compliant commanding systems. Previous experience in operations preparation for ESA or large-scale commercial spacecraft operations companies or projects.
