Social Worker – Assessment Team
Pay Rate: £38 per hour

About the Role
Staffordshire County Council is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join its Assessment Team. This role involves completing high-quality Child and Family Assessments, responding to new referrals, making timely decisions to safeguard children, and working closely with partner agencies to provide effective early intervention.
You’ll be working directly with families at the first point of contact, ensuring proportionate responses based on clear risk assessment and strengths-based practice.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake Child and Family Assessments for new referrals.
Carry out Section 17 and Section 47 investigations when required.
Use clear risk analysis to support decision-making and planning.
Complete direct work with children to ensure their voice is central to all decisions.
Liaise with multi-agency partners including education, GP services, and police.
Maintain up-to-date case recording and prepare concise, analytical reports.
