Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Capital who will lead the end-to-end process of securing and maintaining capital providers for Atrium’s managed syndicates. We are looking for a candidate who is experienced in capital raising within an insurance or reinsurance environment ideally with Lloyd’s vehicles.
Description
Capital Acquisition
* Lead the end-to-end process of securing capital providers working effectively with intermediaries
* Develop and manage relationships with intermediaries to ensure the syndicates are positioned effectively in the market
* Act as the primary point of contact during capital origination discussions
Investor Proposition
* Working with selected partners ensure that there are high quality investor materials and due-diligence documentation
* Present to investors with other key management as appropriate to convert interest into committed capital
* Ensure that a clear value proposition for investors is articulated
Ongoing Investor engagement
* Develop strong relationships with all capital partners to help secure ongoing relationships
* Provide investors with regular updates and organise and lead investor meetings as appropriate
Process management
* Own the capital raising process
* Co-ordinate with XCo, actuarial, underwriting and finance stakeholders as well as internal and external legal support and investment advisers as required
* Ensure execution of capital deals through to binding commitments and maintain accurate documentation and records as required
Market knowledge
* Understand investor appetite, capital trends and competitive dynamics within the Lloyd’s environment
* Monitor trends in alternative capital, sidecar structures, London Bridge 2,
* Build a network across a spectrum of market participants e.g. FAL brokers, ILS, investment advisers
Required Knowledge and Skills
* Experience in capital raising within an insurance or reinsurance environment ideally with Lloyd’s vehicles
* Understanding of Lloyd’s environment e.g. syndicate structures, names, ECA requirements, member modeler
* Demonstrable ability to build relationships with brokers and external capital providers
* Project management skills to run a capital raising process
* Existing network of intermediaries and capital providers
* Ideally highly numerate with experience as an actuary or quant
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Knowledge of London Bridge 2 and other capital vehicles an advantage
