Applications are invited for a fixed-term (4 month) Junior Clinical Fellow (F3) in Breast Surgery from April 2026. The department are looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to join the Breast Unit at Royal Derby Hospital.
The post will support the team across all areas of elective activity including inpatient theatres, day case and outpatient clinics andis ideal for doctors looking to expand their skills in Breast Surgery. The post offers excellent opportunities to learn both clinical and practical skills.
Main duties of the job
* To provide clinical services to Derby, East Staffordshire, and surrounding areas, with colleagues and to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients at the hospitals & clinics
* To provide continuing care and treatment of patients in your charge and personal performance of clinical duties
* Maintaining flexible arrangements for emergency cover and a provision of cover for colleagues during reasonable periods of leave
* Active participation in undergraduate & post graduate education
* Assist in the supervision & training of medical staff/students, carrying out teaching, examination & accreditation duties as required & contributing to postgraduate & CPD activity locally & nationally as appropriate.
* Participate in clinical governance activity under local arrangements.
* Commitment to taking part in the annual appraisal process which will be undertaken by a trust approved appraiser.
* Responsible for compliance with personal continuing professional development requirements with the support of the Trust.
* Responsible for maintaining awareness of & acting in accordance with professional guidelines such as "Duties of a Doctor", "Good Medical Practice", & the "GMC Performance Procedures".
* Exceptional requirements to undertake additional duties for limited periods within geographical area specified above or undertake duties at other hospitals in the event of a major disaster or incident.
