AMLZ Recruiting is the executive search brand of AMLZ GmbH, headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany. We specialize in placing exceptional professionals and executives with leading companies worldwide. Backed by a global network and deep industry expertise, we connect top talent with innovative organizations across a wide range of sectors.
Our client is a leading industrial and energy technology company in the greater Shanghai region, with core R&D and manufacturing focused on advanced power systems, high-performance equipment, and intelligent electrification. The company works with major industrial partners and innovation centers to develop reliable solutions that support automation, smart infrastructure, and the energy transition. Its engineering culture combines scientific rigor with real-world deployment and long-term innovation.
This role starts in March 2026 with a remote-first arrangement. The first three months will be remote to align technical objectives, modeling approaches, and validation strategies. As projects progress, short, fully sponsored on-site sessions in China may be arranged by mutual agreement for activities such as system testing, hardware validation, or pilot trials. Compensation is competitive, with additional allowances for any agreed on-site participation.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct applied research on power and energy systems, focusing on modeling, analysis, and system behavior under real-world operating conditions.
• Develop and refine simulation models and tools (e.g., for grids, power equipment, or power-electronics-based systems) to support design decisions and performance improvements.
• Contribute to methods, algorithms, or workflows for stability, efficiency, reliability, or diagnostics in power systems and advanced electrical equipment.
• Support experiments and validation with lab and engineering teams, interpreting data and translating findings into practical design or control recommendations.
• Prepare clear technical reports, documentation, and presentations for collaboration with cross-functional R&D, product, and manufacturing teams.
Your Profile
• Ideally holding a Ph.D. in Electrical/Power Engineering, Energy Systems, or Power Electronics (or related field), or equivalent industry research experience.
• Background in system modeling, simulation, or control for power systems, power electronics, or advanced electrical equipment.
• Experience with numerical tools and programming (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Python or similar) for analysis and model development.
• Comfortable working with experimental or field data and connecting analytical results to practical engineering decisions.
• Strong communication skills; English is the working language; additional languages are a plus.
We Offer
• Very competitive salary package and comprehensive benefits.
• Remote-first working model with optional short on-site exchanges by mutual agreement.
• Housing and family allowances available when on-site work is arranged.
• Access to cutting-edge tools and high-impact industrial applications.
• Dynamic and innovative environment with clear growth opportunities.
