When was the last time you had the chance to make a real difference to someone’s life and be there when it really counted?
About the role:
At Real Life Options, we support our service users to live their life the way they choose, with a strong emphasis on person-centred care to enable our service users to live as independently as possible.
We are recruiting for experienced support workers to assist two men who have behaviours that challenge. These individuals live in their own homes and receive 1:1 support throughout the day.
The adults we support have intellectual disabilities which affect them in different ways and to different degrees. The ability to follow detailed support plans to ensure a consistent approach is essential. Staff will learn different forms of communication and adapt to working with varying needs.
Staff provide the people we support with assistance to complete a structured daily planner. This includes support with:
* Personal care
* Medication
* Maintaining their homes
* Physical fitness
* Attending a variety of activities
At both services, the supported individuals regularly display challenging behaviour as follows:
* Repetitive and/or negative speech
* Targeting property
* Verbal abuse directed at staff
* Physically targeting staff
* Self-injurious behaviour
Experience supporting intellectually disabled adults with behaviours that challenge is essential.
Working with the people we support is incredibly rewarding. You will be part of a supportive, responsive, and friendly team. There is a huge amount of knowledge and experience in our staff team, with an attrition rate of less than 10%, reflecting what a good place this is to work.
