Job summary
We are looking to appoint a receptionist/administrator to join our busy GP practice. You will be the first point of contact for patients, contractors, and visitors to the surgery. As well as covering Reception, you will also carry out general administration tasks related to the work generated within a GP surgery.
Providing general assistance to the practice team and projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person, electronically, or via the telephone.
Main duties of the job
Job Responsibilities:
* Administration: Have thorough knowledge of all Reception procedures and work in accordance with written protocols. Have a general knowledge of Practice policies.
* Reception: Receive patients and consult with members of the practice team. Handle repeat prescriptions and check names and addresses.
* Appointments: Process appointment requests for today and future appointments by telephone and in person. Organize daily home visits.
* Computer: Process patient address changes and update medical records.
* Telephone: Have a working knowledge of telephone/out of hours services, during and after hours.
* Other Tasks: Ensure building security with end-of-day checks, including doors, windows, and alarms. Perform any other tasks allocated by managers appropriate to the role.

The post-holder will participate in training programs, including:
* Annual performance reviews and maintaining a record of personal and professional development.
* Taking responsibility for own development, learning, and performance, and demonstrating skills to others in similar roles.
