Band 3 Health Care Assistant – Children’s Complex Care
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit Band 3 Health Care Assistants. The team supports children with complex health needs in their own homes and schools across Birmingham.
Responsibilities
* Participate in the provision of basic and specialist nursing care for children with complex disabilities, chronic diseases, congenital abnormalities, trauma, or who are terminally ill.
* Work as part of the nursing team, supporting other multidisciplinary team members.
* Deliver care in varied settings including home, schools, hospitals, hospices, day centres, and other community environments as required.
* Perform clinical skills such as gastrostomy feeding, suction, and oxygen therapy, following a competency-based framework.
* Provide ongoing support and innovative play and learning opportunities for children.
* Be flexible in community settings, collaborate with other health professionals, services, and agencies.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Good level of basic education and computer skills.
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a child or young adult related subject, or equivalent experience.
* Experience working with ventilated children or those with complex health problems is beneficial but not essential.
* Innovative, able to provide play and learning opportunities.
* Strong teamwork and collaborative skills.
* Ability to develop working relationships with other healthcare professionals.
