JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager oversees all aspects of a project, ensuring it's completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. They are responsible for planning, organising, and directing project completion, managing resources, and communicating with stakeholders.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
All activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures and standards.
Project Management
•Lead, manage and coach the Project Management department – upskill where required
•Communicate regular progress updates to executive leadership team and clients
•Drive execution of individual projects (customer orders, capex and/or new product introduction) to ensure on-time delivery within the project budget
•Collaborate with associated personnel on project scope, timeline, and allocated resources
•Create a budget, a schedule, and action items for team members
•Prepare briefings for team members before meetings and conference calls
•Track overall project initiative progress using Microsoft Project or equivalent
•Ensure project complies with all health and safety requirements
•Negotiate solutions to any issues based on company policy and procedure
•Draft progress reports and reviews for stakeholders
Project Documentation
•Create and update Microsoft Project plans
•Presentations for project stage sign off’s
•Technical Documentation to accompany project scope
•Support all reporting requirements
Other Duties
•Prioritise own workload in order to meet project / business needs
•Develop and maintain key contacts both internally and externally
•General duties as delegated within the overall range of the post
JOB CONTEXT & KEY CHALLENGES
The job forms part of a team working in the Project Management department reporting to the Directors, carrying out a variety of complex projects, which requires interpretation of specifications in line with regulatory and quality standards.
Key contacts are across all departments up to Director level and with external clients and suppliers.
Key challenges include:
•Developing and maintain effective working relationships with key contacts
•Maintain awareness of current trends and developments within profession
•Generating ideas for improved work procedures
•Performing work in context of overall department and project priorities
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
The job holder should normally hold as a minimum:
i.Bachelor’s in Project Management (Master’s preferred but not required)
ii.Minimum 4 year's experience in successful operations & project leadership
iii.Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Project, or equivalent
iv.Excellent interpersonal communication skills and establishing professional rapport
v.Good negotiating skills and problem-solving skills
