We are seeking a Research Fellow with a clinical background to join the RLW BRAIN programme, which aims to generate detailed datasets of clinical, neuropathological, biomarker, and tissue omics (proteome, lipidome, posttranslational modifications), as well as spatial transcriptomic data.

You will work with digital pathology datasets, develop Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) models based on image and language data, and contribute to advancing diagnostic accuracy, biomarker discovery, and disease stratification through innovative research. This role offers a valuable opportunity for a motivated individual to gain research experience and develop academic credentials toward a PhD.

You will be part of an exciting, large multicentre research project, contributing to clinical research, assisting with day-to-day team coordination, and ensuring high levels of functionality and communication. There is also an opportunity to participate in clinical diagnostic activities at QSBB and the Division of Neuropathology.

The position is available immediately and funded by the Reta Lila Weston Trust until 29 February.

About you

You should have a Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) with clinical experience in neurology, neuropathology, or neurodegenerative disease research, along with a background in clinical and/or basic research. Knowledge of multi-omics data integration (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics) and experience with large-scale clinical datasets, imaging, and electronic health records (EHRs) are required.

This role qualifies for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. UCL welcomes applications from international applicants requiring a visa.


What we offer

The Research Fellow position offers a salary range of £44,000 - £51,000 per annum, including London Allowance.

Resident Doctors in training will be appointed as Clinical Research Fellows with salaries from £49,000 to £75,000 per annum, depending on NHS contract/stage of training.
