The Head of Compliance will report directly to the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. This individual will be responsible for managing the compliance function across the Augment group of companies, including meeting compliance obligations in the United Kingdom, United States, Bermuda, and other territories as the company grows. The Head of Compliance will work to build out the compliance framework, assess compliance risks, make recommendations, and ensure implementation of activities to mitigate risks and support our ethical culture.Responsibilities:Compliance Strategy: Lead in building a compliance culture within a start-up reinsurance and capital management firm.Compliance Framework: Develop, implement, and maintain the compliance framework ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions.Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments, recommend mitigation strategies, and address compliance gaps.Monitoring: Create a plan to monitor ongoing compliance adherence.Policies and Procedures: Draft, review, and update compliance policies and procedures.Licensing and Returns: Oversee license applications, renewals, and regulatory filings.Changes in Laws: Stay updated on legal changes affecting compliance in relevant jurisdictions.Training and Awareness: Collaborate on compliance training programs tailored to staff roles.Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the main contact for regulators, handle inquiries, audits, and examinations.Collaboration and Teamwork: Work with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality compliance services.Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.At least 7 years of experience in regulatory and compliance, preferably in property & casualty insurance.Experience with the U.K. FCA; Bermuda Monetary Authority and U.S. Departments of Insurance experience is a plus.Strong organizational, communication, and detail-oriented skills.Positive attitude, problem-solving ability, and prioritization skills.Why work for us:Flexible work-from-anywhere policy.Opportunities to innovate and challenge norms.Collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.Ownership and accountability encouraged.Equity sharing and comprehensive benefits.Augment Risk is an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity and inclusion.
