IT Support Officer| 23 Month Contract | (Outside IR35) | Hybrid (Edinburgh) | Starting ASAP Day Rate: £155.97 Job Description: This post offers an excellent opportunity for a highly conscientious individual to gain further experience in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment, where they will be providing significant support to the clients work. Main Duties: You will: Be responsible for setting up requisite IT accounts for new colleagues; On behalf of the Assistant Head: IT Support, maintain the relevant sections of the clients IT Asset Register; Support the provision of hardware to colleagues, to ensure they can effectively undertake their role; Support the installation of software, providing, where applicable, instructions for users on using that software; Where applicable, develop manuals, tutorials, and processes and procedures to guide and support colleagues using a newly developed software package; Troubleshoot IT issues with staff members, and, where applicable, the Scottish Government iTECS team; Oversee all iFix submissions pertaining to client IT related issues; Provide a record of any support (iFix) calls and the end-to- end approach to issue resolution; Arrange, where applicable, for the repairing of hardware; Create and maintain an adequate supply of IT-related stock, and any other equipment necessary for the functioning of their systems; Act as a point of contact with internal and external stakeholders, on the performance, management and disposal of hardware and software; Be responsible for ensuring all aspects of hardware and software conforms with client and Scottish Government's respective policies on IT. Essential Skills & Experience: Demonstrable experience of supplying first- and second- line support in the workplace High levels of oral and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present and engage in a range of internal and external settings The ability to gather evidence of non-technical users' technical issues to provide third party support services sufficient information to solve issues Experience of working in a high performing, fast-paced, dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment Proven ability to work under pressure, plan, prioritise, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders A high degree of personal resilience and the ability to deal with what can be a distressing subject matter IT Literate, with strong knowledge in MS 365, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Meticulous attention to detail This role has been deemed Outside IR35 by the client.
