This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects covering Nuclear New Build, Decommissioning, existing Nuclear Generation and Nuclear Fusion.
Your Role
The role will entail designing electrical solutions for the construction of new nuclear stations and systems at fusion research facilities, supporting the operation of the existing nuclear generating fleet and decommissioning of nuclear sites.
Day-to-Day Activities
* Requirement identification and equipment specification.
* Conceptual Design & Feasibility Studies.
* Front-End Engineering Design.
* Detailed Design.
* Hazard/fault identification studies e.g., HAZOP, HAZAN, FMEA, etc.
* Test witnessing.
* Safety Substantiation.
* Production of technical reports, procedures and drawings.
* Review technical documentation and drawings.
* Resolving technical issues.
* Tender reviews.
* Assisting in the production of bids and proposals.
* Work in a collaborative environment for a minimum of half your working week.
About You
* Relevant degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
* Good engineering judgement and a few years of experience as an Electrical Engineer with desirable experience in Power distribution system designs, power system protection studies, lighting and emergency lighting design, earthing & lightning protection design, UPS distribution systems, battery systems, back-up generation and excitation control systems, motor design.
* Ability to produce and review/correct technical reports to a good quality standard.
* Motivated to meet delivery/cost targets without compromising quality.
* Aware of technical limitations and able to use help and support of others.
* Understanding of commercial and client management principles.
* Progress towards achieving chartership with a relevant professional body.

Security Clearance
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is delivered by UKSV and may require proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
