Service Manager – Paediatric Emergency Medicine & Children’s Outpatients
This role is based at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) within the Acute & General Paediatrics Directorate, Paediatric Medicine Division of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The Service Manager will work closely with the Clinical Service triumvirate, clinical lead, matrons and wider teams to support the delivery of operational targets, improve financial performance and enhance the quality of services to patients and families.
* Provide operational support to the Clinical Service triumvirate, working with clinical lead, matrons and wider teams.
* Ensure delivery of operational performance targets, including access targets.
* Contribute to maintaining financial balance and improving service quality.
* Lead transformational projects for the outpatients services and the urgent care programme in the Paediatric Emergency Department.
* Participate in on‑call rota when required.
* Support the General Manager in meeting Trust and National Key Performance Indicators by developing and maintaining robust management processes.
* Translate long‑term objectives into effective, affordable action plans for the service.
* Deliver a cost‑effective, high‑quality service through the relevant managers and ensure accountability for services delivered by staff providing direct care.
* Ensure services are delivered within budget and to agreed specifications, acting as a resource for managers in delegated roles.
* Develop and deliver an annual service plan involving complex activities agreed with the Clinical Director.
* Utilise and promote the use of all relevant information in making operational decisions and implementing service plans.
