Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting experienced Class 2 (Cat C) Drivers to support a well-established steel company within Edinburgh City.
This is an ad hoc role, ideal for drivers looking for flexible, as-and-when work with competitive pay and the opportunity to pick up regular shifts.

1. Flexible, ad hoc shifts based on business requirements
2. Work available across Edinburgh City and surrounding areas
3. Shifts available on weekdays and weekends
4. Typical start times: 7:00am or 11:00am
âž• Additional shifts often available for holiday cover and peak demand
đź’° Pay Rates
Monday – Friday:
5. ÂŁ14.50 per hour (PAYE)
6. ÂŁ16.25 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
Overtime (after 8 hours):
7. ÂŁ19.32 per hour (PAYE)
8. ÂŁ21.66 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
✅ Minimum 8 hours’ pay per shift
âś… Weekly pay (holiday pay accrued unless PAYE Advanced selected)
đźšš The Role
9. Driving a Class 2 vehicle delivering steel products across Edinburgh City
10. Multi-drop deliveries with support from a driver’s mate
11. Assisting with loading/unloading, including heavy items
12. Completing daily vehicle checks and maintaining accurate paperwork
13. Providing excellent customer service
✅ What You’ll Need
14. Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
15. Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
16. No more than 9 penalty points (no DD, DR, CD, or IN endorsements)
17. Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
18. Minimum 12 months’ Class 2 driving experience
