Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher/SENDCo to help drive our school forward and ensure the highest standards of teaching, learning, behaviour, attendance and pastoral care. This is a key strategic role, combining whole‑school leadership with responsibility for provision for pupils with SEND.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher to shape the school's vision, and maintain a culture of excellence and nurturing care.
Responsibilities
* Provide inspirational leadership across the school as part of the Senior Leadership Team.
* Teaching and learning, inclusion, behaviour, attendance and pastoral care.
* Coordinate and line manage the Pastoral and InclusionTeam and support staff, including the deployment of resources and interventions.
* Work closely with families, external agencies, and professionals to deliver personalised support.
* Monitor and analyse pupil progress, using data to inform strategic decisions.
* Support teaching, learning, and curriculum development across the school.
* Model outstanding classroom practice and promote high standards of behaviour and safeguarding.
* Lead the implementation of the school's Behaviour Policy, providing training and support for staff and liaising with key stakeholders and other agencies as necessary.
* Contribute to whole‑school improvement planning and evaluation.

* Holds the NASENCo qualification (or is willing to work towards it).
* Has a deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
* Can build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
* Is committed to continuous improvement, teamwork, and reflective practice.
