The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Housing Options team for a housing options admin officer. The main purpose of the role is to provide support to Lancaster City Council’s housing options team which provides a homeless and housing advice service to vulnerable residents throughout the Lancaster district. The team’s aim is to assist residents to remain in their accommodation, prevent homelessness and provide accommodation to those the local housing authority owes a rehousing duty if homelessness cannot be prevented.
Responsibilities
* Provide triage and full administrative support to the Housing Options team staff.
* Assist residents to remain in accommodation and prevent homelessness.
* Provide a full range of administrative duties while maintaining a sensitive and discrete approach to confidential information.
* Demonstrate a real commitment to providing excellent customer care and a top‑quality service to members of the public.
Qualifications
* Relevant experience.
* Enthusiastic, organised, and motivated flexible person with a “can‑do” attitude who responds well to working under pressure in a small team environment.
* Proficient IT user with good verbal and written communication skills.
Hours & Location
This post is a permanent position, 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 9‑5, based at Lancaster Town Hall.
Flexible Working
The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post subject to the needs of this business, allowing employees to work between 6:00am‑10:30pm.
