Specialist Biomedical Scientist - Cellular Pathology (Band 6 - 37.5hrs/week) - Permanent contract
An exciting opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified Specialist Biomedical Scientists to join our friendly but busy Cellular Pathology team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. The Department handles in excess of 22,000 surgical histology requests and 1600 non‑gynaecological specimens per year.
Suitable candidates will be required to have extensive Cellular Pathology knowledge, experience and successfully completed their IBMS registration and specialist portfolio or equivalent qualification. Consideration will be given for those candidates nearing the end of their specialist portfolio, however evidence will be required.
You will need to be able to demonstrate that you are self‑motivated, organised and participating in CPD activities. You will be working alongside Medical Laboratory Assistants, Assistant Practitioners, Biomedical Scientists, Junior Medical staff and Consultant Pathologists and will be expected to rotate through all sections of the laboratory and take part in our early/late rota following relevant training.
