Our client is a highly regarded multi-disciplinary property and construction company with a dynamic history founded in development, consultancy, construction and operation of high profile projects. Having grown from being a small organization with highly skilled people to a top tier player in the property and construction sector within 20 years, they are now extending their stellar reputation into the utilities sector. They are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in highways to work on a secondment of specialists to support and advise the capital portfolio management (CPM) project team.
Your role will entail becoming an active member of a specialist and industry-leading team,supporting and working collaboratively with individual project teams in the region to provide an empowering, empathetic and supportive service on statutory utility diversions and protection works matters that enables individual project teams to deliver the commitments within the road investment strategy and project delivery plan with more confidence, pace, efficiency and best value.
As a Senior Project Manager, actively support assistant utility team members. Responsible for setting and scoping work elements through legal services framework and outsourced specialist lawyers to manage specific utility works agreements.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing specialist advice, training and other support focused on the statutory utility and NRSWA processes to internal project teams across major projects programmes.
* Advising on assigned products within client’s project control framework ensuring they remain fit for purpose. Ensuring that technical assurance undertaken by project teams is to the right standard, including periodic auditing.
* Supporting the project teams, key stakeholders and statutory utilities to scope value engineering solutions through optioneering, design and delivery.
* Advising on and promote an internal strategy for matters relating to statutory utilities and NRSWA processes across the client’s major projects. Reviewing and auditing scheme NRSWA C1 –C9 processes.
* Developing a plan identifying the programme and complexity of schemes in the region that will require statutory utility diversions or protection works, identify, develop, implement, promote and refine improvements to knowledge management systems relating to statutory utilities.
* Supporting the identification and enablement of regional efficiency opportunities, encouraging innovation, empowering and inspiring continuous improvement.
* Managing, maintaining and supporting collaborative relationship building at regional and national levels with statutory utilities to improve engagement, stakeholder insight and programming opportunities.
About you
You have professional qualification in Chartered Institution of Building (CIOB), Chartered Managers Institute (CMI), Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), or equivalent by demonstrable experience.
You have direct experience of delivering utility sector to works with NRSWA, understanding of complex DCO process and utility legal frameworks, service level agreements and memorandums of understanding. You have strong programme management skills in delivering improvements to systems and processes with respect to utility delivery timescales. You have knowledge and understanding of utility construction activities, industry health and safety process across main disciplines including water, gas and electricity, experience in planning and managing utility diversions on major infrastructure projects with respect to CDM 2015 Client and Principal Designer functions. You have an understanding of utility risks and mitigations to develop clear delivery strategies and assigned risk management.
You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and will provide support to strong, motivated teams. You will have highways experience in a similar role within a consultancy environment and strong desire to develop your career.
