Are you passionate about empowering families and improving outcomes for children and young people? Devon County Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Family Group Conference Team Manager to join our Family Group Conference Service.
About the Role
As Team Manager, you will oversee a team of Family Group Conference (FGC) Coordinators, providing professional leadership, supervision, and strategic direction.
You’ll work collaboratively with Children’s Social Care and Early Help partners to ensure the effective use of FGCs and Family Networking Meetings across Devon, contributing to the development of Family Group Decision Making practice in line with the Families First programme.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a trauma-informed, family-led approach that reduces statutory intervention and promotes sustainable change.
Key Responsibilities
 1. Lead and manage a team of FGC Coordinators (up to 8 staff), ensuring high-quality supervision and development.
 2. Promote multi-agency collaboration and community engagement to safeguard children and young people.
 3. Drive performance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement across the service.
 4. Manage team budgets and resources effectively.
 5. Champion the Family Network agenda and restorative practice across Devon.
 6. Support the development of Devon’s Families First programme offer.
About You

 8. Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
 9. Expertise in safeguarding, child protection, and family-led decision-making.
 10. Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
 11. A recognised qualification in social work or a related field.
 12. Commitment to equality, diversity, and trauma-informed practice.
A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is essential.
