Ultimate Visual Solutions Ltd (UVS) are a northwest based manufacturer of audio-visual control systems and supplier of turnkey display solutions. Our solutions are installed in applications including security, CCTV/surveillance, traffic control, utilities, military, emergency services control rooms and other corporate and public display applications.
Due to expansion, we now require a northwest based IT/Audio Visual technician to join our small team to fulfil the role as outlined below.
The Role:
Video Wall Controller Assembly & Test
Carry out assembly of our video wall controller systems at our build room in Burnley, including mechanical assembly, internal wiring, software and driver installation and system testing. This will also include component stock management and use of our internal build process.
Service/Support
Dealing with service/support enquiries by phone, email and via remote connections to assist clients with queries and attending customer sites as required to investigate & rectify any system issues (specific product training will be provided).
As part of the role, you may also be required to assist in:
Installation & commissioning of video wall controller and display systems
Including LCD displays, LED displays, display controllers, control software and associated equipment/accessories. This includes the mechanical, electronic, IT, networking and software aspects of the system. Also carrying out scheduled maintenance work at client sites to fulfil maintenance contracts.
Pre-sales technical support
Assistance as required during client demonstrations at customer sites or at our demonstration rooms. Also assisting on technical queries relating to client enquiries or a project tender.
Although this role is mainly office based, there will be a requirement to travel as required by the business. The expected split would be 80% office based, in Burnley, 20% onsite.

Requirements

The right candidate should meet all essential criteria and as many desirable criteria as possible.
* A high-level knowledge of IT systems, including networking and Microsoft Windows 10/11 (E)
* A basic knowledge of Microsoft Server operating systems (D)
* A basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL or other relational databases (D)
* Experience of Video streaming and IP Encoding, including IP based CCTV cameras (D)
* Experience configuring IP networks (E)
* Experience of Audio-Visual installations including displays (D)
* Basic understanding of PCI-Express and graphics cards (E)
* Experience of PC or server builds, using off-the-shelf components. (E)
* Working on client sites both installation and support (D)
* Willingness to travel (UK and overseas as necessary) (E)
* Experience of working at height, and power tools such as drills and cutting tools (D)
* Have a good level of literacy and experience of email packages such as Microsoft Outlook (E)
* Hold a technical qualification / passed an apprenticeship in a related IT subject (D)
* Hold a full, valid UK Driving licence (E)
* Documented proof of unrestricted right to work in the UK (E)
* Be prepared to go through government security clearance questionnaires (E)
