Are you organised, proactive, and skilled at keeping operations running smoothly? Bridmet, a leading UK sub-contract manufacturer of metal components and assemblies, is looking for a Dispatch Coordinator to join our growing team. This is a new role within the business, reporting directly to the Operations Manager, with duties and responsibilities that will grow alongside the role.
Responsibilities
* Use our new dispatch system to collate, pick, pack, and palletise goods for dispatch while adhering to customer and company DWI’s for safe packaging.
* Liaise with drivers regarding delivery schedules, routes, and load times to ensure timely distribution.
* Complete daily vehicle checklists, escalating any issues to the relevant team members for resolution.
* Ensure tacho cards are downloaded correctly, and any infringements are logged and addressed appropriately.
* Verify that goods sent for sub‑contractor operations are quantified, correctly identified, and checked against the sub‑con plan and purchase orders.
* Coordinate with drivers to ensure sub‑con parts are delivered and collected within agreed timescales, following proper booking procedures.
* Work with Production Supervisors to facilitate efficient movement of goods between sites and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Dispatch Coordinator, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring that goods move efficiently and safely through our operations. You’ll manage dispatch processes, coordinate with drivers and production teams, and make sure all items are prepared, packed, and delivered according to customer and company standards.
Continuous Improvement and Collaboration
* Identify opportunities to streamline dispatch processes and improve operational efficiency.
* Support drivers and production staff with scheduling, logistical challenges, and procedural guidance.
* Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, tacho card downloads, and vehicle checks in line with company standards.
What You’ll Bring
* Proven experience in logistics, dispatch coordination, or warehouse operations.
* Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
* Attention to detail with a proactive, problem‑solving mindset.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable Expertise
* Familiarity with ISO9001 or experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of sub‑contractor operations, transport scheduling, or stock management.
