Inspire Independence. Empower Young Adults. Transform Futures.
At St Elizabeth’s, teaching is about so much more than lessons — it’s about unlocking potential, nurturing confidence, and helping young people take their next steps toward adulthood.
Set in 60 acres of beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, St Elizabeth’s is a national charity supporting children, young people, and adults with complex medical and learning needs, including epilepsy and autism.
Our brand-new Sixth Form is purpose-built to offer young people aged 16–19 an inspiring and highly supportive environment. Here, education is personalised, calm, and empowering — equipping learners with the academic, social, and life skills they need to thrive beyond the classroom.
We are a values-led organisation — Aspirational, Collaborative, Joyful, and Compassionate — and we’re looking for a talented teacher who shares our belief that every young person deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated.
About the Role
Following the successful launch of our new Sixth Form in September, we’re expanding our team to support increasing admissions as the service continues to grow.
You’ll lead a small class of learners with complex needs, supported by an exceptional on-site team of Learning Support Assistants, Therapists, and Specialist Nurses. Together, you’ll create a truly person-centred learning experience — where every success is recognised and every student is encouraged to achieve their potential.
You will:
* Deliver engaging, differentiated teaching across pre-entry, Entry Level and Functional Skills pathways.
* Build independence and employability skills through real-world learning experiences.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary colleagues to deliver holistic, outcome-focused support.
* Create an inclusive, positive learning environment where every achievement is celebrated.
* Track, record, and report on progress in academic, personal, and vocational areas.
This is a unique opportunity to teach with heart and purpose — and to help shape the future of an ambitious, growing provision.
About You
You’re an inspiring and adaptable educator who believes in the power of personalised learning. You see ability before disability, and you take pride in helping every learner move closer to independence.
You’ll bring:
* QTS and experience working with learners with special educational needs, ideally post-16.
* Creativity and confidence in tailoring learning to meet complex individual needs.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Passion for preparing young people for adult life — academically, socially, and emotionally.
Whether you’ve worked in SEN or mainstream settings, if you’re ready to make a real impact in a place that values joy and purpose, this could be the perfect next step.
