About the RoleA welcoming and inclusive primary school in Reading is seeking a passionate and committed Year 5 Class Teacher to join the team on a full-time maternity cover contract from September 2025. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning to ensure pupils make excellent progress across the curriculum.
This role is suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners who are enthusiastic about supporting children in achieving their full potential in a supportive and well-resourced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured lessons aligned with the national curriculum
* Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress and development
* Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
* Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and EAL
* Promote high standards of behaviour and positive attitudes to learning
* Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular opportunities and whole-school events
* Work effectively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support pupil development
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience of teaching in Key Stage 2, preferably Year 5
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive learning environment
* A commitment to inclusive education and supporting all learners
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
