Main duties of the job
You should have good IT skills and be eager to develop new ones. Knowledge of EMIS Web and some medical experience would be advantageous; however, training will be provided for the right candidate. Excellent customer service skills are essential for this demanding role.

Our clinical team currently comprises 5 doctors and 1 paramedic practitioner. We work closely with 2 nurses and 1 healthcare assistant. Job responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Carrying out reception and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the reception area.
Accountability:
You will be accountable to the Partners and Practice Manager.
Specific Duties:
1. Reception Duties
2. Greeting patients politely and managing queues through telephone and face-to-face interactions.
3. Explaining practice arrangements and requirements for new and temporary patients, including booking new patient appointments with a doctor.
4. Responding appropriately to all queries and requests for assistance from patients and visitors.
5. Keeping the reception area clean and tidy.
6. Booking appointments accurately and appropriately.
7. Handling all patient details confidentially, in accordance with practice policies.
8. Maintaining knowledge of the appointment system, including clinic times and appointment durations, with familiarity of EMIS Web.
9. Retrieving and refiling records as required.
10. Scanning documents accurately.
11. Providing non-clinical patient care, such as dealing with requests for information, test results, and speaking with clinical staff while ensuring confidentiality and privacy.
12. Maintaining knowledge of computer and clinical systems, reporting any issues, and completing online training courses as needed.
13. Adhering to practice protocols regarding confidentiality.
