Social Worker – Children’s Assessment Service South
In this important role you will be part of a duty‑rotation of social workers who receive child assessments as they are referred by our Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub. You will also lead Section 47 child protection investigations where necessary, all with the support of experienced permanent managers. Your work ensures children and families receive thoughtful, evidence‑based assessments that help them identify and make lasting changes.
Main duties
As a key safeguarding role you will:
* Receive and assess child protection referrals on a duty‑rotation schedule.
* Lead Section 47 child protection investigations where required.
* Provide child‑focused, proportionate, evidence‑based assessments and develop further plans of intervention.
* Collaborate with multi‑agency partners, maintain strong relationships and contribute to the Family Safeguarding Model.

About you
* Qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration.
* Completed the ASYE (or equivalent).
* Experience working with children and families in a statutory setting.
