Job Overview The Leicester Leicestershire and Rutland (CAMHS) Crisis Home Treatment Team operates as a 24/7 service. We are looking to recruit Band 5 Mental Health Practitioners who will work within the home treatment part of the service.Candidates will need to have a professional qualification in Nursing, Social Work or Occupational Therapist. This is an exciting development opportunity if you are looking to progress your career working with children and young people who have mental health difficulties. The Home Treatment arm of the service operates 08.00hr - 22.00hr seven days per week. The post holder will be required to work full time (37.5 hours) on an internal rotational basis. The post is suitable for newly qualified practitioners, and you will be able to complete your preceptorship in post and the team will offer enhanced supervision and training to support you in your new role. The team has one community base and operates a hybrid model of working with staff members working from the base, community and home. It is essential that you have access to a car and have a full driving license. You will be offered a trust and a team induction over a four week period where you will be supported to build on your knowledge and skills. Contact details: Astyn.tinkler@nhs.net Job Description Summary (Main duties and responsibilities) The post holder will be responsible for providing home treatment interventions for children, young people, and their families -up to 18 years. Work flexibly across the city and county visiting young people within the community. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the senior mental health practitioners in the effective management of a community caseload. Work collaboratively, and promote effective working relationships, with members of the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring effective clinical decision-making, internally and with external agencies. The candidate should understand young peoples mental health needs, excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and organised and have a reflective and flexible approach to working with children with complex needs. Empower Service Users and their families/carers to influence and use available services, information and skills and act as an advocate where appropriate. Provide a professional, non-stigmatising service to children and families. Adhere to Trust Policies in consideration of Children in Need and safeguarding issues and in maintaining accurate and effective written records.
