Job overview
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Clinical Director to lead the Critical Care component of the Perioperative Directorate. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead further developments in Critical Care at the RSCH, PRH, and SOTC sites. These include relocating the Cardiac HDU to LMB level 7, creating a Level 1.5 unit at SOTC, and expanding critical care capacity at RSCH.
We are looking for a skilled and experienced leader who can manage complex multiprofessional teams, balance competing priorities, and lead Directorate medical staff through current NHS challenges.
The Clinical Director will be supported to develop leadership skills through 'Staff College' and PFIS training, with regular 1:1 meetings with the Chief of Service.

* Previous experience in a substantive consultant role.
* Significant success in a Consultant leadership role.
* Experience in business/service planning in management or educational roles.
