Speech and Language Therapist
Location
Hillingdon Granges – predominantly Yiewsley Grange, with occasional support of other sites.
Salary
Up to £53,200 FTE DOE plus £5,000 Welcome Bonus (one £2,500 payment after one month, one £2,500 payment upon completion of final probation period, T&C's Apply).
Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am – 16.30pm.
Contract
Permanent (term‑time only, or flexibility around full‑time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances).
The role
Work as part of an in‑house clinical team to deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergence or SEMH needs within an education setting. Provide and manage a therapy caseload, support professional bodies' standards, and contribute to staff training and consultation.
Essential Criteria
* Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC registration
* 1–2 years of experience as a fully registered member of RCSLT in a similar setting
* Experience working with complex and diverse communication profiles
* Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice
* Experience in multidisciplinary working across settings
* Experience communicating with families, relatives and carers
* Interest in developing knowledge across SaLT practice areas
* Strong relationship‑building, analytical and judgement skills
* Effective oral and written communication skills
* Good time‑management and organisational skills
* Competence in core SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
* Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, intervention types and formulation of support plans
* Knowledge of relevant legislation for clinical practice and professional management
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications relevant to the client group
* Experience working with ASD
Desirable
* Understanding of sensory and motor differences affecting communication
* Understanding of the relationship between arousal levels and communication
