At Lainesmead, we believe every child should strive, achieve and excel so that they can believe in a limitless future. We are a warm, inclusive and values-led school where teamwork, kindness and ambition go hand in hand.
We are looking to appoint a confident and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant, or an experienced Teaching Assistant with proven class-cover experience, to join our team. The key responsibility of this role is to provide high-quality class cover across the school – from Nursery to Year 6.
This role is varied, exciting and rewarding. You’ll be part of a supportive staff team who share ideas, celebrate successes and pull together to make every day count for our children. Because you’ll provide class cover across all year groups, you’ll get to work with every child in the school and watch them grow and flourish as they move through their Lainesmead journey. The ability to step confidently into different classrooms, maintain continuity of learning and quickly build positive relationships is essential.
We welcome applications from:
• Experienced cover supervisors, teaching assistants or HLTAs with class-cover experience
• Teachers (including ECTs) seeking a broad range of classroom experience across the school
We are seeking someone who:
• Has recent experience of successfully providing whole-class cover
• Demonstrates strong classroom practice and high expectations for behaviour and learning
• Can adapt quickly to different age groups, routines and teaching styles
• Builds positive relationships with children and colleagues
• Is flexible, positive and proactive in supporting the needs of the school
We can offer you:
• Enthusiastic, well-behaved children who love learning
• A friendly, collaborative staff team who look out for one another
• Real opportunities to develop your skills and take on new challenges
• Support and mentoring from experienced teachers and leaders
• The chance to make a difference across the whole school and see every child progress
• An inclusive, nurturing environment where wellbeing and laughter are valued
Closing date: 9 am 26.11.25
Interviews: 1.12.25
Visits to the school are warmly encouraged – please contact the school office to arrange a time to meet us and see what makes Lainesmead such a special place to work.
