We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Mental Health Team at HMP Garth.
HMP Garth has a capacity of around 800 males and is a category B prison located in Lancashire.
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will have experience working within Mental Health and will be a prescriber, working within the healthcare department and also within the prison wings.

Hours
Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 8am - 4pm. Salary: £59,677 - £66,792 per annum depending on experience. This position is permanent.

What you’ll be doing
* Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems.
* Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team, which consists of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including mental health and substance misuse practitioners.
* Act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times.
* Support senior clinicians on site and participate in the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients.
* Work with the team to ensure patient safety, management of complex cases, and application of latest treatment methodology.

Qualifications required
* Registered Nurse – Adult Mental Health with current NMC or Registered Paramedic with current HCPC.
* Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification.
* MSc in Advanced Practice.
* Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice guidance.
* Ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment (not essential).
