Job Overview:
They are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the team as an Assistant Estimator. In this role, you will work closely with our experienced estimators to assist in the preparation of cost estimates for a range of construction projects. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth and development within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with the estimating team to assist in the preparation of cost estimates for projects
2. Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required
3. Obtain and analyze quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
4. Assist in the preparation of take-offs and quantities for materials and labor
5. Utilize estimating software and spreadsheets to accurately calculate costs
6. Participate in bid meetings and presentations
7. Maintain accurate and organized records of all estimates and related documents
8. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of estimates
9. Continuously seek opportunities to improve and streamline the estimating process
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying
2. 1-2 years of experience in construction estimating preferred
3. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques
4. Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
5. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
6. Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
7. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
8. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
10. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
