This is a senior leadership role, responsible and accountable for the strategic leadership, direction and operational management of Leicester Hospitals Charity. The postholder will also ensure the effective stewardship and growth of charitable funds to deliver maximum benefit for patients, staff and communities served. To lead the strategic and service development and growth of Leicester Hospitals Charity, providing direction and leadership for the planning, implementation and oversight of the Charity's activities and appeals. To oversee all fundraising activity and manage the development of high-value opportunities. To act as the Charity's lead professional adviser ensuring strong governance, regulatory compliance and ethical fundraising. To act as the senior ambassador and public face of Leicester Hospitals Charity, and work closely with the Corporate Trustees on the direction and performance of the Charity. To maintain and update all charity policies, risk registers, audits and impact reporting in line with best practice ad legal requirements. To lead financial and risk management reporting for the Charity. To be line manager for the Charitable Appeals Team. The role leads the development and delivery of a multi-year transformational growth strategy, with responsibility for increasing annual charitable income to £5m over the next 3–5 years, positioning Leicester Hospitals Charity as a high-performing NHS charity with regional and national credibility. Operating with a high degree of autonomy within agreed governance frameworks, the Director of Charity acts as the Trust’s senior charity specialist and principal advisor to the Charitable Funds Committee and Trustees. The postholder provides visible, inclusive and compassionate leadership to a multi-disciplinary team across fundraising, finance, marketing and operations, embedding a high-performance, donor-centric and values-led culture.
