Band 7 Specialist Occupational Therapist – Mental health

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Mental Health Liaison Team, a Psychiatric Liaison Service operating out of three Acute hospitals in Coventry, Nuneaton, and Warwick.
We have secured funding to recruit a fixed-term/secondment Band 7 OT clinician to join our expanding multidisciplinary team, which includes an established small team of OT staff.
The role involves a mix of individual and group-based community follow-up and individual interventions within the hospitals, aligned with CORE 24 objectives.
We are particularly interested in hearing from Occupational Therapists with backgrounds in Adult Mental Health, Learning Disability, and/or Older Adults Mental Health. Experience with physical complexities is also applicable.
Main duties of the job
We are strengthening our team and seek a skilled, motivated, and compassionate practitioner to deliver a responsive and comprehensive service for people attending A&E or receiving care in an acute hospital. Experience working with a broad spectrum of mental disorders, including self-harm, mental health crises, or age-related mental health issues, is essential.
Successful candidates will join our well-established, supportive team of experienced clinicians, including Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Clinical Support Workers, and a Clinical Trainer.

Job responsibilities
We seek practitioners with professional registration in allied health fields, clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and teamwork abilities. A commitment to high standards and partnership working with other teams and hospitals is essential.
The MHLT operates 365 days a year, providing a 24-hour service to the hospitals. The Band 7 OT role is Monday to Friday.

Qualifications
* Grad Dip/BSc Occupational Therapy
* HCPC Registration
* Post-graduate education evidence
Knowledge and Skills
* Specialist knowledge of models of practice (e.g., MOHO) and assessments
* Ongoing personal development (e.g., portfolio)
* Knowledge of health and safety standards
* Organisational skills
Experience
* Significant postgraduate clinical experience, ideally within community or intermediate care settings
* Understanding of clinical governance in Occupational Therapy
* Generalist skills and staff supervision experience
