Oversee the delivery of a high-quality English curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, ensuring that it is engaging, challenging, and relevant to our students' needs and aspirations. Lead, motivate, and develop a team of talented English teachers, providing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities. Oversee the organisation and delivery of a diverse program of extracurricular English activities, including debating societies, creative writing clubs, and theatre productions. Foster a love of English in all students, encouraging them to develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, and to appreciate the power of language to communicate effectively and creatively. Manage the department\'s budget and resources effectively. Build strong relationships with parents, external examiners, and the wider school community. Contribute to the school\'s strategic development and promote the value of English education.
We are seeking an exceptional Head of English to lead and inspire our talented team of teachers and students in a prestigious independent girls\' school in London. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2025. Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.

Qualifications

* Is confident in building rapport with students, staff, and parents.
* Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for English and relevant examination specifications.
