We are seeking an outstanding Programme Manager to lead a team of School Project Managers and Assistants to deliver a portfolio of education construction projects.
Workingas part of a multi-disciplinary team, y ou will play a lead role in planning, developing and commissioning investment across our school estate. As part of our SEND Improvement agenda, our capital programme includes an ambitious programme of projects that will increase SEND sufficiency and provide local specialist places for local children and families. Working with our local school partners, y ou will be responsible for the strategic development and successful delivery of all projects, including expansions and refurbishments projects.
You will also be responsible for implementing improvement activities in the delivery of our programme, strengthening our governance arrangements a nd ensuring our programme delivery methodologies are robust and transparent. You will manage priority themes of the programme alongside risk, time, cost and quality and you will give others confidence and assurance that our projects deliver their intended benefits and our school estate is fit for purpose. With your expertise and knowledge of construction industry, you will provide strong leadership, inspire and motivate teams and demonstrate enthusiasm to drive value and excellence at every turn.
You will be required to:
* Oversee and developalong-term capital programme forinvestment in our schoolestate.
* Provide strong leadership anddemonstrateconstructionexpertise.
* Contribute to the strategic development of the service.
* Develop strongpartnershipsboth internally and externally, harnessing the best resources to supportthe delivery of a complex programme ofwork.
* Demonstrable democratic reporting writing and presentation skills.
* Demonstrate excellent specialist skills and knowledge of theconstructionindustry in particular schoolcapital build programmesand development of specialist placesprojects .
* Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within capitalised budget limits.
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent in relevant discipline (MRICS or MCIOB). Qualification in PRINCE II and/or Managing Successful Programme (MSP).
* Proven experience of managing complex, high value public sector school capital programmes over £50m (including capital projects over £10m).
* Experience of different constructions form of contract NEC3, Stage 2, D & B and Oversee and lead on all Planning related work with internal Partners.
* Good understanding of Contract Law, Contract Management and Contract negotiation.
