Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Tooling Teams perform manufacturing functions related to metal working dies and tool making. They are responsible for constructing, modifying, and conditioning metal working dies, as well as fabricating gages, cutting or forming tools, and fixtures based on blueprints, sketches, models, and specifications. They perform precision work to exact tolerances, recommend design revisions, and solve problems related to materials, machine settings, and fabrication methods. Maintaining a clean and organized work area and adhering to TE Connectivity's EH&S policies are also essential.

Primary Purpose

To provide toolmaking services for the manufacture and repair of tools, working to very close tolerances, interpreting engineering drawings, and offering technical advice and training to toolmakers.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Manufacture new tools, repair, and renovate old tools.
2. Handle various tasks simultaneously, adapting to changing priorities.
3. Plan manufacturing stages, selecting appropriate machinery and processes for accuracy and quality.
4. Operate machines safely, maintain a clean environment.
5. Complete tasks within deadlines to meet targets.
6. Perform additional tasks as requested by managers.
7. Follow company procedures for tooling activities.
8. Observe health and safety regulations.
9. Possess good general education with numeracy and perception skills.
10. Capable of manual grinding, turning, milling.
11. Read and interpret engineering drawings.

Required Background

Education, Training, and Experience:

* Good general education with numeracy and perception skills.
* Ability to work to fine tolerances and interpret engineering drawings.
* Problem-solving initiative in tool manufacturing.
* High concentration for safe machinery operation.
