Multi-Skilled Engineer
A growing manufacturing site is looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong electrical background to join their engineering department. This is a hands-on role supporting factory operations, keeping production running smoothly and safely.
What You’ll Be Doing

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across a range of plant and machinery.

Responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns, both in and out of hours, minimising downtime for the business.

Overseeing external contractors to ensure work is completed safely, to spec, on time, and within agreed costs.
*
Ensuring all equipment is maintained in line with relevant legislation and technical standards.
*
Supporting the development and roll-out of Health & Safety procedures and promoting safe working practices across the team.
*
Communicating confidently with colleagues at every level and staying calm under pressure.
*
Working as part of a close-knit team focused on delivering results together.
What You’ll Need
*
Strong flexibility, reliability, and self-motivation.
*
Solid background in electrical maintenance, including installation, fault-finding, repair, continuous improvement, and preventative maintenance.
*
Experience within food production or manufacturing (advantageous but not essential).
*
Recognised electrical engineering qualification (desirable).
Hours & Pay
*
Full-time role (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday.
*
Shift pattern: 6am–2pm or 7am–3pm.
*
Hourly rate: £18.03
*
Disturbance/on-call allowance: £200 per week after probation/when competent.
*
On-call rotation: 2 weeks in every 6, plus £75 per call-out.
*
Weekend work as required, paid at overtime rate (1.5x).
