The Role
We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join an inclusive secondary school in Wakefield. This is a full:time position starting this January, offering a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is keen to gain classroom experience and support the continuity of learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain on task and focused. This role is not about teaching, but about managing the classroom, maintaining discipline, and ensuring the learning objectives set by the class teacher are followed.

Requirements:
* Previous experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
* A genuine passion for education and supporting young peoples learning.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness for one)

Responsibilities:
* Supervising students during lessons to ensure they are on task and engaged with the set work.
* Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
* Implementing the schools behaviour policy effectively and consistently.
* Responding to student queries and providing support as needed.
* Ensuring the safety and well:being of all students in the classroom.
* Collecting completed work at the end of the lesson and returning it to the designated area.
* Communicating effectively with school staff regarding any issues or concerns.
* Adhering to the schools policies and procedures at all times.
* Leading by example and acting as a positive role model for students.
* Promoting a culture of respect and mutual understanding.
