Real Estate Solicitor
The Firm
We're working with a well-regarded regional law firm in Staffordshire with a strong reputation in the property sector. Known for its personable approach and commercial focus, the firm acts for a range of clients including regional and national housebuilders, landowners, and developers. As the firm continues to grow its residential development offering, it is now seeking a solicitor with 2+ years' post-qualification experience to join its established real estate team.
The Role
This is a key opportunity for a Residential Development Solicitor to work closely with senior lawyers and clients on a range of residential development matters. You'll be involved in both strategic and transactional work, supporting developers through all stages of land acquisition, site set-up, and ongoing development.
Key responsibilities include:
* Acting on behalf of housebuilders and developers in relation to land acquisitions and disposals
* Drafting and negotiating conditional contracts, option agreements, overage provisions, and promotion agreements
* Advising on site assembly and infrastructure agreements (Sections 106, 38, 278)
* Conducting due diligence and managing title and search reviews
* Liaising with planning consultants, surveyors, and local authorities
* Working with a specialist plot sales team to support site disposals
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with at least 2 years' PQE in residential development or commercial property with relevant experience
* Experience acting for residential developers or landowners
* Sound understanding of development transactions and planning-related issues
* Strong communication and drafting skills
* Commercial mindset with a client-focused approach
* Ability to manage matters independently with appropriate support
