Credit Control Manager
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Credit Control Manager/Supervisor to lead and actively manage the credit control and sales ledger function within a manufacturing environment. This role is both strategic and hands on, requiring strong leadership alongside direct involvement in day to day credit control activities to support cash flow, reduce risk, and maintain strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee the full credit control and sales ledger function
* Take hands-on responsibility for key and high risk customer accounts
* Ensure timely and effective collection of outstanding debts
* Set, review, and manage customer credit limits in line with company policy
* Supervise, mentor, and develop the credit control team
* Monitor and maintain accurate sales ledger records and account reconciliations
* Resolve complex billing queries, disputes, and payment issues
* Produce and analyse aged debt reports and cash flow forecasts
* Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to align credit decisions with business objectives
* Support month-end close, audits, and financial reporting requirements
* Continuously improve credit control processes and internal controls
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a Credit Control Manager or Senior Credit Controller
* Strong background in manufacturing or production based businesses
* Demonstrated hands-on experience managing sales ledger and collections
* Excellent people management and leadership skills
* Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
* High attention to detail with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
* Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
Qualifications
* Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or related field (preferred)
* Credit management or accounting certification (advantageous)
