Professions considered: Registered Nurses (RGN/RMN/RNLD), Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Paramedics, Pharmacists Location : Roles available across the UK (subject to regional service needs) Contract: Permanent, full-time Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm (no evenings or weekends) Salary Overview PIP Functional Assessor : £37,500–£39,500 per annum (approx. 3 assessments per day). WCA Functional Assessor: £40,000–£42,000 per annum (approx. 5–6 shorter assessments per day). Amazing benefits included We are working in partnership with our client, a respected national provider of health and disability assessment services, to recruit Clinical Assessors for their PIP and WCA teams. These roles offer a structured, office-hours working pattern and the chance to use your clinical expertise in a different way — focusing on functional assessments and evidence-based reporting rather than direct treatment or shift work. Key Responsibilities Carry out structured functional assessments in line with Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) requirements, either face-to-face or via telephone/video. Review medical evidence, health questionnaires, and claimant statements. Conduct detailed, structured interviews to understand the impact of health conditions on daily life and work capability. Prepare high-quality, evidence-based reports for use in DWP decision-making. Training & Support Successful applicants will complete a comprehensive 6-week, fully paid induction covering: Assessment methodology and structured interviewing. DWP policy, standards, and compliance requirements. Report writing skills and objective evaluation techniques. Ongoing mentoring and quality feedback are provided throughout your employment. Candidate Requirements Registered healthcare professional (Nurse, OT, Physio, Paramedic, Pharmacist) with at least 12 months post-qualification experience. Current NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong IT literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly.
