Thank you for taking an interest in joining our Company. Due to increased business level's, we are looking for a General Assistant to join our expanding Company on a Three (3) Month Fixed Term Contract.
Where will you be working?
Arlington Fleet Services is based at Eastleigh Works in Hampshire on a 46-acre site which includes 14 acres of workshops. We were formed in 2004 by a group of experienced railway engineering professionals and our business is constantly expanding. The Company supplies many rail maintenance and refurbishment services including;
· Routine maintenance of a variety of locomotives, coaching and other stock Mobile services which are the most extensive in the UK including re-railing and heavy lifting and wheelset changes on site.
· Bogie overhaul.
· Heavy repair including collision repairs, re-wiring, interior refurbishment and overhaul
· Paint shop.
· Rolling stock storage.
· Workshop facilities to other customers.
· Train stabling and additional related storage.
What is the opportunity?
The ideal candidate will have good interpersonal skills and a good understanding of the importance of excellent service. No relevant experience is required as full onsite training will be provided.
· To ensure the work areas are kept in a clean and tidy condition during and at the end of the working day.
· To replenish/refill supplies when necessary.
· To support the onsite Security office, as and when required.
· Compliance with company policies and Health & Safety standards.
· To wear the correct safety equipment at all times.
· To work in a structured and efficient way throughout the day.
· May be some heavy lifting, putting away paint consumable orders
· Willing to learn the painting process and application. (Water based and solvent based products.
· To assist in preparation of vehicles
· To assist in masking up of vehicles.
· To carry out any reasonable requests made by management.
· Undertake any other similar responsibilities as requested from time to time
· Good Attention to detail.
· Excellent time keeping & attendance.
· Ability to work alone or as a team.
