Job Title: Azure Solution Architect
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Azure Solution Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will be a presales professional responsible for developing solutions to support cloud-native Microsoft Azure Application Modernization and Data Modernization. This role combines technical leadership with solution design expertise, emphasising apps, data platforms, analytics, and integration.
Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements, challenges, and goals related to application and data modernisation, including automation and AI initiatives.
2. Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions leveraging Microsoft's Azure platform and cloud services.
3. Ensure solutions align with industry best practices and adhere to relevant standards and regulations.
4. Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams throughout the solution lifecycle, from ideation to implementation and ongoing support.
5. Outline solutions including diagrams, team member work estimates, timelines, and costs.
6. Manage solution roadmap, planning, estimation, and initial delivery efforts through assessment and recommendations.
7. Participate in RFx responses and develop strategies to expand business within our Azure practice.
8. Work with Sales and Contract teams to ensure proposed solutions are accurately translated into contracts.
9. Collaborate with account executives to provide technical sales support to close deals.
10. Coordinate with delivery teams on project team assignments to meet customer needs.
11. Present case studies to customers on delivered work.
12. Determine if services fit customer requirements and direct them to appropriate consulting practices.
13. Contribute to opportunity pursuits in landing, expanding, and protecting business across verticals.
14. Collaborate with practices on the evolution of service offerings and presales materials.
15. Ensure smooth turnover from sales to delivery, managing expectations, schedules, and ramp-up time frames.
16. Maintain relationship management and conduct status checks with clients.
17. Act as a technology consultant, providing advisory and thought leadership support.
Essential Skills
18. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems or a related field.
19. 12+ years of experience in information technology and/or IT professional services.
20. 5+ years in client-facing presales roles developing new business.
21. Hands-on experience in solution design and development with cloud-native architectures, microservices, containerisation, and DevOps practices.
22. Deep expertise in the Microsoft Azure platform, including application migration and development, GitHub, Azure DevOps, SQL Server, and Azure Data Services.
23. experience with front-end application development using SQL and Azure AI tools.
24. experience in AI technologies applied to software development and business applications.
25. Strong writing and client-facing communication skills.
26. experience with various technology platforms, application architecture, design, and delivery.
27. Software or services pre-sales experience with a dynamic personality.
28. Strong business acumen with the ability to develop business cases and gather business requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
29. Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certification, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure AI Engineer Associate or similar preferred.
30. experience in engagement management and project management with full application development lifecycle using multiple methodologies (AGILE/SCRUM, RUP, Waterfall, etc.).
31. experience developing project estimations, planning, and scheduling.
32. experience administering client professional services agreements, including change management.
33. Strong drive to remain current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in application and data modernisation, including AI domains.
34. Ability to travel to client locations as needed.
