The Application Architect is a varied role where the core responsibilities are split into the defined areas of:
* Providing technical direction and guidance on business requirements by designing software solutions
* Ensuring best practices are being adhered to within the development teams
* Evaluating and researching emerging technologies with a view to utilising them within solutions
* Assisting the development teams with their solution implementation
* Coaching and mentoring less experienced developers
Your New Role
The Architect will be working closely with the other Architects, Platform Engineers, Product Owners, developers and other business stakeholders to ensure that the software solutions are practical, secure, and attainable.
The architect is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to all developers in the department as well as for the design and development of new and existing software.
The role will involve being close to the code; therefore, it is essential the Architect has commercial experience of developing cloud native applications (Azure / AWS / GCP) using .NET / C#. It is advantageous for the Architect to have worked with front-end Javascript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
Key Accountabilities
* Responsible for the overall application architecture, in collaboration with the infrastructure architects. Recommend/design structures and tools for systems that meet business needs.
* Break down complex change into manageable deliverables.
* Direct developers on requirements.
* Explain the technical solutions to stakeholders.
* Inform clients and stakeholders on progress and challenges.
* Produce and maintain quality documentation on the systems architecture.
* Identify technical issues and effect changes to avert future breakdowns.
* Advise on new technologies and make recommendations on how to continually improve current systems.
